This course is for for beginners and will introduce to you the underlying principles of effective information design.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course you should be able to:

  • Understand and use the principles of information design
  • Assess information design and have the capacity to improve upon it
  • Make diagrams using an appropriate chart type
  • Create information design that appeals, is understandable and helps people retain information

This course will be taught over University of the Arts London's online platform. Each session will last two hours, home work assignments will be set for completion between classes. Who Should Attend

Anyone who wants to create clear information design (eg, charts, diagrams or ‘infographics’) or have an understanding of how to use it.

This course is great for anyone who works with data and information graphics. Or you maybe someone who presents data and information at work looking for more knowledge of the visual possibilities

You do not need any previous design experience. You may work with data for policy, business or campaigns.

Level

Beginner: You do not need any previous experience. This is not a software course - it is about the underlying principles of effective communication.
