About this course
You require a background in electrical installation i.e. Qualified Electrician and knowledge of electrical installation principals and it is essential that you already possess C&G 2381 or preferably 2382-10 i.e. 17th Edition Regulations or the update 2382-20.

Inspecting, Testing & Certification Of Electrical Installations Level 3 City & Guilds 2391-10 (Replaces 2391-01)
Course Details
28 Hours of study at the centre. Areas to be covered include: - Items to be checked during the detailed inspection. The need for diagrams & charts to be available prior to the testing process. The sequence of and procedures for testing. The requirements for inspection and testing of alterations and/or additions to an existing installation. Issuing Completion and Inspection Certificates. The requirements for periodic testing. Choosing appropriate test equipment, plus hands on use of the test equipment. Plus the practical assessment an additional 3 hours one to one with the assessor, time to be arranged with the assessor during the last day of the course.
Materials | Textbook Requirements
A Copy of BS7671: 2008 the IEE wiring regulations 17th edition Red covers. The On-Site Guide incorporating BS7671: 2001 Brown covers. IEE Guidance Note 3 Inspecting and Testing Incorporating BS7671: 2001 (Pending publication of 2008 editions) 2 Different colour highlighter pens. A4 Lined Note Pad, Pen and Pencil, calculator.

Study Requirements
28 Hours of study at the centre. In cases where students are identified as requiring extra help, further study may be undertaken at the lecturer's recommendation or the discretion of the student. This course is offered as full days on four consecutive weeks.
Examination I Assessment Details
Students will sit the City & Guilds 2391 examination, and a 3 hour individual one to one practical competence assessment.
Future Prospects
Possession of this qualification should enhance both career prospects and job opportunities. Possession of the C & G 2391 qualification is recognised by the NICEIC as a key component for NICEIC enrolment and also evidence of testing ability for Part P approval.
