The Institute seeks to serve the whole of the profession of chiropody. Its members include chiropodists, podiatrists and foot care professionals, employed and self-employed. The Institute certificate of membership is accepted by most employing and licensing authorities, who know that members undertake to adhere to a strict code of professional conduct.Through its Parliamentary Agents, the Institute maintains a watch on proposed legislation, and has been successful on a number of occasions in obtaining exemption for its members from clauses requiring licensing of practitioners' premises. It is the Institute's policy to keep abreast of all legislative developments, particularly those in the EU, and our agents keep us well informed of pending legislation which might affect the membership.
