Course programme

This inter-disciplinary programme, offered by the Department of Geographical and Life Sciences, is for students who wish to work in a career where a broad range of science knowledge is required. Such knowledge is becoming more and more valued by employers, so that nature reserve management, industry, local government, the voluntary sector, environmental and/or biological research and school teaching careers are all possible with this degree. The programme structure is very flexible, which allows the student to select modules in their particular area of interest, while still providing a rigorous grounding in the broader aspects of the science. Students have the opportunity to select from biological, physical, chemical and environmental science modules and experience a high quality balance across the traditional disciplines.
