This is a challenging course designed for the student wishing to follow a career path in Acting. Emphasis will be given in the first term to prepare for entry to drama schools. Performance projects are the underlying foundation of the course. As members of our ‘IntAct’ Theatre Company, you will work within a schedule that emulates that of a professional company, taking daily technique classes and rehearsals.

What you need to know
How will I study?

Units and Projects will be selected from: Preparation for Drama/University Auditions; Children’s Theatre Production; Physical Theatre Production; Developing Acting Skills; Innovative Approaches to Acting; Physical Theatre Performance; Naturalistic Acting; Creative Arts Professional Practice; Voice and Speech; Movement for the Actor; Creative Arts Research Skills and Devising Performance. You will undertake rigourous practical research and academic exploration, which will produce work within the scholarly conventions appropriate to an undergraduate level of study.
How will I be taught?

As members of our ‘IntAct’ Theatre Company, you will work within a schedule that emulates that of a professional company, taking daily technique classes and rehearsals. An independent approach to study and the generation of performing arts evidence is emphasised through all units.
How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed on your ability to respond to stimuli in the rehearsal room and on the simulation of skills in performances. You will also create appropriate research to supplement any practical assignment; this will be through logbooks or research papers.
