This course is for those students who wish to develop their skills to an advanced level in animation, either for pleasure or in preparation for further study in art and designWe believe the future of research lies in breaking down traditional barriers between academic disciplines so the bigger problems of the 21st century can be considered from human as well as physical perspectives. We have a number of interdisciplinary research themes, which fit closely with international research priorities.

Course programme

You will undertake a series of projects designed to develop your skills in 2D animation, Stop Frame animation (Claymation), Audio work incorporating Lipsyching, simple game design, basic editing and interactive digital media. You will also undertake research to enable you to acquire knowledge of the work of animators, film makers and designers. There will be specific links with the 'Animated Exeter' Festival, and opportunities to interact with local animation studios.
