2. Course description Summary: Students will gain skills and knowledge in areas of digital arts, interactive media, animation, web design and creative practice. Course description: This course is approved and examined by the University of Arts London (UAL) awarding body. UAL is the only specialist awarding body for art, design and creative industries in England. The course is particularly appropriate for school-leavers who have an interest in using their traditional art skills to create interactive products. The course develops student's creativity through a range of media, starting with drawing and mixed media experimental work combining digital and traditional art techniques. The student will then progress through a range of project-based, practical units that cover digital painting, concept art, image manipulation, animation, 3D modelling, games development, web and app design. The innovative and responsive curriculum encourages your individual creativity and interests, giving you the skillset to progress to further study at higher education level. You will be taught in our digital PC studio with access to Wacom tablets, scanners, video/audio recorders, animation suites and a wide range of industry standard software. Students will continue to develop their English, Maths and ICT alongside employability skills. Students who do not have a grade C in Maths, but are accepted on the course because of the quality of their portfolio and other qualifications, will undertake a GCSE within their Programme of Study.
