Course Content: There are three units that make up the qualification: Working as a CCTV Operator within the Private Security Industry Practical Operation of CCTV Equipment within the Private Security Industry Working within the Private Security Industry The course will: develop knowledge related to the private security industry, including the purpose of the industry, the functions of the regulator, governing legislation and acceptable work practices, procedures and standards develop technical knowledge underpinning the role, duties and responsibilities of a CCTV operative, including covering areas such CCTV codes of practice, operational procedures and guidelines, relevant legislation, emergency procedures and the importance of effective communication with third parties develop practical skills and abilities in the functional aspects of the role, including locating and tracking lost contact drills and capturing images in the context of the CCTV. How will I be assessed? You will be assessed via: Externally set exams Practical demonstration Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? There are no further costs involved. What can I do after this course? Learners who have achieved this qualification can progress to related security qualifications should they wish to change career, such as the Award in Working as a Security Officer or Door Supervisor. Learners may wish to progress to the Apprenticeship in Providing Security Services, which has units common to this qualification and which can therefore be recognised as prior learning. They can also consider the Foundation Degree in Criminal Justice (Offender Management).
