These apprenticeships are designed to give you the skills and knowledge required to be a highly effective leader within the workplace and are suitable for team leaders and managers who are looking to support the development of their skills and competences in leading a team and achieving organisational objectives.
Knowledge
You will develop the following knowledge & skills to Level 2 standard:
• Manage personal performance and development
• Communicate work-related information
• Lead and manage a team
• Principles of team leading
• Understand business
• Functional skills - maths & English (unless exempt)
• Employment rights and responsibilities
• Personal learning and thinking skills
Optional Units
You will choose from a wide range of optional units including:
• Develop working relationships with colleagues
• Contribute to meetings in a business environment
• Manage team performance
• Manage conflict within a team
• Participate in a project
• Collaborate with other departments
• Store and retrieve information
• Deliver customer service
• Negotiate in a business environment
This apprenticeship teaches the theory of team leading and how business works. It will include learning how to manage a workload, work with others, lead a team and communicate effectively and persuasively.

Course programme
These apprenticeships are ideal for a wide variety of roles across many sectors and can include shift leaders, trainee managers, supervisors and team leaders.
Candidates must be in a suitable job role for their chosen apprenticeship and will ideally have a basic level of maths and English. Candidates must have completed the previous level apprenticeship before progressing onto the next level apprenticeship. Apprentice candidates should not be on any other Government-funded training; must hold a contract of employment of at least 30 hours per week and must not be self-employed. Residency conditions apply and apprenticeship candidates must be at least 16 years old.

How are these apprenticeships delivered?
These apprenticeships are delivered mostly in the workplace through regular assessor-trainer visits to make sure you are on track to complete and achieve. College attendance may be required and this will be discussed upon enquiry and enrolment onto the apprenticeship.
