Course programme

Course review:

Intro

BS OHSAS 18,001:2007 provides both private and public organisations with a useful model for managing health risks and safety risks resulting from business operations and for improving OH&S performance. Within the management systems model the internal audit process is identified as a key tool in the maintenance and continual improvement of an OH&S management system (OH&S MS).

Benefit

Participants will learn what is expected of them - as auditors, or auditees - as per the new ISO 19,011 (November 2002) Auditing Guidelines. Training in internal auditing provides delegates with a broader understanding of the key processes of an organisation, and of their Health and Safety Policy and how it is implemented. Positive Communication channels are opened up or reinforced by a greater awareness of OH&S procedures.

Qualifications

Continuous assessment techniques will apply throughout the course, for the IRCA learning objectives tests. Successful completion of the course will be verified by a Certificate of Competence issued by SQMC.

Topics will include:

  • Outline of BS OHSAS 18,001:2007 (specification)
