Events management is a multi-billion pound global industry which is predicted to grow by more than 10% over the next decade, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Our BA (Hons) International Events Management programme combines residential trips to events destinations, regular visits to high-profile national and international events and venues, specialist guest lectures, and full involvement in organising a wide range of live events on our beautiful Regent’s Park campus. We take a holistic approach to your professional and personal development, and seek to hone your skills and broaden your involvement in the industry as your studies progress. Our programme covers many different disciplines from the global events management industry, and offers a practical but academically rigorous approach to undergraduate study. You will experience a wide range of different events from the world of luxury, fashion, music, sport, international professional associations, corporates, charities, agencies, and many more, with the aim of developing your understanding of the benefits and challenges of organising events in today’s industry. We provide regular opportunities for you to organise live events, at different stages, covering different roles. By the end of the programme you will graduate as an accomplished global events manager, ready to lead and succeed in whatever area of the industry interests you most. Study methods You will experience a wide variety of teaching methods and approaches including lectures, seminar-based activities, group and individual projects, the organisation of live and assessed events on core events modules, attendance at a selection of UK industry events, live pitches to high-profile organisations, guest lectures from predominant industry personnel, University-based exams, and analysis of many different commercial case studies. A broad approach to learning and teaching is adopted in order that you experience the many different aspects of the international events industry, and hear from its varied stakeholders, each with a fresh perspective on the industry and its challenges. This is a 4 year full-time programme.
Additional information
As part of the programme, you will complete at least one semester of Study Period Abroad where further investigation of the international events management industry takes place, and have the opportunity to complete a 4-6 month full-time international industry work placement (which can be undertaken in London or globally) as part of your degree.
Such placements are conducted with global event management agencies, international events venues, suppliers and tourism organisations, or multi-national organisations or brands, for example.
An increasing number of students from the programme are securing full-time employment post-graduation with organisations they have been employed by as part of their studies at the University
