About this course

The course is aimed at management, business or economics graduates, who would like to gain a more specialist knowledge of issues related to financial analysis. It is also suitable for non-business graduates with good numeracy levels who wish to develop financial skills and understanding.

You will analyse individual companies from an external perspective with substantial emphasis placed on:

corporate strategy
accounting
valuation
You will undertake practical studies of real world data via DataStream and other industry sources, in order to develop skills in the manipulation of financial and statistical software.

Your dissertation consolidates this learning, as it takes the form of an analyst's report on a major corporation. You will prepare a report on a company of your choice, analysing financial and accounting data, strategy and corporate governance. You will conclude with a valuation of the company itself.

A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in any subject. You also need to have a good basic level of numeracy equivalent to UK GCSE or above.
