Human geography, after sharing a foundation year with geography, focuses more on people, place, space and mobility. Field-based learning and practical application are at the heart of this course, and you’ll develop skills in collecting real world data and using geographical information systems. You’ll also have the opportunity to take fully-funded field trips in the UK, Switzerland and Spain. Module content ranges from looking into how our world is changing and contested, planning for rural and urban change in Britain, outdoor recreation and education. It also reflects on the growing importance of tourism and development alongside the impacts of migration, geopolitics and globalisation.
