Course structure Course aims and benefits:- introduction to print making in relief: history and examples
- preparation of the lino / wood block: drawing/ transfer images on block
- the use of different wood carving tools
- linocut and woodcut: one block / multiple blocks / reduction technique
- monoprinting techniques: subtractive method/ direct drawing/ direct painting/ collage and textures/ stencils/ hand coloured prints
- handling paper / mixing inks / rollers
- printing image: registration
- hand printing without press / printing on press
- numbering and signing
- learnt how to create images with lino, woodblock and monoprinting techniques
- gained the skills and knowledge to make and print their own creations with and without a press, in an accessible and easy manner
- developed their ideas and unique language through the different techniques learnt, within an artistic environment which is open to the interchange and evolution through a constructive critique of their own practice
- an understanding of all relevant health and safety considerations
