Sylvia is an experienced tutor in all levels of BSL. She has recently acheived her NVQ4 in BSL Qualification and is currently undertaking her A1 training programme. Since April 2010 she has been in the position of Head of Training at Sign Solutions.

Course programme

British Sign Language : Level 1 – Unit 101

Have you always wanted to learn British Sign Language and communicate with Deaf people?

We are offering you the chance to learn basic vocabulary and BSL skills, each week building your knowledge and understanding.

This course can be a vocational learning experience or at the end of the course you can choose to sit an assessment giving you a recognised qualification.

The course will be delivered at our premises in Alvechurch, South Birmingham, with an option of two courses:-

Tuesdays: 6.30pm-8.30pm commencing 13th March for 10 weeks

or Saturdays: 10am-1pm commencing 3rd March for 6 weeks

Successful candidates can go on to complete units BSL102 and BSL103 in order to achieve the full Level 1 Award in British Sign Language.
