Course programme

An overview of how computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing can be applied to the traditional skills of pattern cutting, grading, lay planning and fashion design. On this CAD CAM course you'll learn using various CAD/CAM software packages, Adobe Illustrator and other associated software.

  • Pattern input via digitising
  • Computerised pattern development techniques
  • Converting traditional grading methods into computerised techniques
  • Lay planning/costing
  • Creating line drawings for range boards and specification sheets

Level:

Beginners (with some computer experience). You should have an interest in the subject area and a desire to learn but no previous experience is required.
