Introduction to Carpentry

What You’ll Learn

Able Skills 5 day Carpentry course has been recognised by City & Guilds as a comprehensive introduction to carpentry and as such, they have accredited the course with a C&G 4555-05.

At the end of this Carpentry course you will receive a City & Guilds certificate to confirm the skills that you will have learned.

During this 5 day Carpentry course you will learn how to:

• Use hand tools such as chisels, planes etc.
• Cut basic joints
• Cut and fit dado rails, architraves, skirtings and doorstops
• Fit a door lining/frame
• Hang a door
• Fit a Lock

How You’ll Learn

This course is designed to provide you with plenty of general Carpentry knowledge to ensure that once you leave the training centre, you are confident to undertake the various tasks that you will have learned. The course is entirely hands-on from the moment that you start

Equally, Able Skills are happy to cater for those of you who have a basic knowledge of carpentry but want something a little more suited to their needs, so something bespoke. Additional Info

This option to achieve a City & Guilds 4555-05 Carpentry certificate is also available over 2 consecutive weekends. This course can act as a fantastic introductory to Carpentry and following on from this; it may be that you want to gain carpentry qualifications. If that is the case, you will be able to upgrade to any of the longer programmes of carpentry that we teach. To help you, we will deduct from any course, the time spent on this course and we will also deduct the fees paid for this course.

All tools and materials are provided throughout the course, you will just need to ensure that you have suitable clothing and protective footwear (mandatory).

Duration & Cost

The cost for this City & Guilds certificated Carpentry course is £395.00 including VAT. A £150.00 deposit will secure a booking and the balance can be paid on the start date.
