Course Content: Familiarity with different IT devices – managing/using a PC, laptop, tablet and mobile phone Internet safety and security – parental controls, password protection and virus checking Website searching – search engines, comparison websites, bookmarking useful pages, social media sites, internet auction sites Email – how to send, receive and read messages, video calls, social media Financial – secure websites, personal data and internet banking Applying for jobs – email alerts, uploading CVs and downloading job application forms, Universal Credit job searching, Job Centre and social housing websites Task/Project/Presentation – end-of-course project to showcase your competence in the skills you have learnt How will I be assessed? This is a project-based course. You will be required to complete a project/presentation to showcase your competence in the skills you have learnt.
