Course programme
This course will cover the basics of computer programming, including what a program is, and how to use the programming environment to develop and run your own code.
The course is for anyone who is already IT literate and has an interest in learning how to code their own programs. It could be used as a taster for anyone unsure whether to pursue a change of career or further study in Computing.
Course Content / Modules
C programming language will be used to teach coding methods, including the use of variables, and simple selection and iteration. A knowledge of C programming provides an excellent starting point for progressing to one of the many contemporary languages that are based on C, such as PHP, ASP, Java, JavaScript, C#.
