This course provides qualified practitioners with additional learning to further enhance their CV and career development.
Students looking to enrol onto this course should meet the following criteria:
Be aged 16 Years or above
Possess a solid knowledge of the english language
Have access to a PC and the internet for the duration of the whole course
Basic computer skills
Have a genuine desire to succeed
This course provides successful students with a completion certificate from CACHE and their enhanced learning program. Awarding body CACHE is recognised as an awarding organisation by the qualification regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, who are: the office of the qualifications and examinations regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Welsh Government and the council for curriculum, examinations and assessment (CCA) in Northern Ireland.
Students are able to enrol online at any time of the year. No specific enrolment dates.

Course programme
In this course learners will be given a general introduction to the concept of safeguarding and its importance in a childcare setting.
The course will focus on:
- when to be concerned, i.e. what is abuse, how to spot possible signs of abuse,
- understanding setting policy for reporting concerns i.e. setting’s own policy and procedures and link to local safeguarding procedures,
- basic knowledge of the document ‘What to Do if You Are Worried a Child is Being Abused’, i.e. what it is and what it contains,
- whistleblowing, i.e. importance of raising concerns about poor practice within own setting.
The course provides an ideal background for learners going on to study the RQF unit as part of the Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce, or is useful as standalone training. The course is intended for learners working in nursery settings
AssessmentStudents will progress through a series of topics online through our student portal. At the end of the course students will complete a multiple choice quiz type assessment. If you dont complete first time you can try the assessment again at no extra charge. Upon completion students can download and print a college certificate whilst awaiting their CACHE endorsed certification.
