Introduction to Screenwriting

f you’ve ever had a great idea for a movie this introductory course will give you the structure and tools you need to develop it into a screenplay. We will look at essential aspects of screenwriting such as plotting, creating characters, how to write dialogue, and knowing the world of your movie.

Throughout the course we will watch and discuss examples from the cinema and look at screenplay excerpts, and everyone will have their writing critiqued by fellow screenwriters, all under the guidance of the tutor. By the end of the course you will have the chance to turn that movie idea into a three-paragraph summary, a treatment and the first fifteen minutes of a screenplay.
