Course Summary:
The Level 1 Award in Coaching Boccia is the first qualification on the boccia coaching ladder. The qualification is designed to provide learners aged 16 and over with an introduction to the practical and theoretical aspects of coaching boccia. The foundation level of knowledge recognised in this qualification will enable them to develop an understanding of the safe, ethical and effective coaching of the sport.

Entry requirements
You should have a keen interest in coaching and an understanding of boccia. You need to be at least 16 years old and have good communication skills.
You should be able to demonstrate a basic personal ability to perform the skills and techniques involved in the sport.

Course Content: The course will cover the following elements: Understanding the Principles of Planning, Conducting and Evaluating Coaching Activities in Sport Planning, Conducting and Evaluating Boccia Coaching Activities How will I be assessed? You will be assessed through the completion of coaching sessions, including their planning, delivery and evaluation. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? You will be supplied with course handbooks, coaching notes and materials. You are expected to have suitable kit for coaching. What can I do after this course? The Level 1 Award in Coaching Boccia is the first rung on the coaching ladder. Those who complete this Award will be able to aid the delivery of boccia coaching sessions to adults and children.
