Who is it for?

The IOSH Managing Safely training course is designed to help team leaders, supervisors, managers and heads of department effectively manage their teams’ health and safety.

What does it cover?

Delegates will learn about the importance of health and safety – and what you will need to know in a real-world situation at work. The IOSH Managing Safely course gives detailed step-by-step guidance without jargon or off-putting legal language. There are clear scenarios to which managers can relate, and high quality technical content that’s based on real situations.

The course takes four days and covers how to carry out risk assessments quickly and effectively, how get to grips with auditing and measuring, and discover methods to identify and control hazards. Delegates will also gain a detailed knowledge of the law and how the legal system works regarding health and safety, along with steps they can take to protect the environment in their day-to-day work.

The course is arranged in eight modules and is designed to meet international standards:

1. Introducing managing safely
2. Assessing risks
3. Controlling risks
4. Understanding your responsibilities
5. Identifying hazards
6. Investigating accidents and incidents
7. Measuring performance

Lifelong: No Expiry

There is an end-of-course assessment of 30 multi-format questions.
There’s also a project to be completed within two weeks of the end of the course.

Learners will have the oportunity to sit mock multi-format assessments prior to the final assessment being delivered.
