This course is intended for all those in the education sector, Learning and Skills Council, education business partnerships and other organisations who arrange, monitor, or administer work experience placements.
What will the delegate bring back to the workplace?
- An understanding of the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved in work experience placement
- An understanding of the causation theory of work-related accidents/incidents and ill-health and the methods of prevention
- The ability to identify a range of common hazards presented by workplaces, and the control measures necessary to ensure the risks are reduced to an acceptable level
- The ability to communicate effectively with employers providing work experience opportunities, so they are reasonably satisfied that those employers will fulfil their health and safety responsibilities to those on work experience placements.
Delegates who attend and successfully complete both the practical and written assessments will be awarded a certificate from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Please note that the practical assessment must be completed in the workplace and submitted within two weeks of completing the course.
