Welcome to the Isle of Man Government, Department of the Local Government and the Environment.The Department, through the Food Safety Unit, has responsibility for Port Health and is a member of the Association of Port Health Authorities, Committees of which meet regularly to discuss policy issues and new legislation on imported food control and environmental health and hygiene. This Association proves to be a most useful forum for the exchange of information between authorities on rejected cargoes and other matters of significance.
