About this course
Functional Skills Level 1, or 3 GCSEs (grades A*- C) including English and Maths. Students should have a strong interest in the area of ICT and be able to discuss why they wish to do this. They need to be committed to study and be responsible for their own learning. It is necessary to attend an interview with the Work Based Learning team and complete basic skills assessments in literacy and numeracy. Students on this course are required to be employed in a suitable work placement, where they are using a variety of IT applications, daily.

What will I learn?
IT Application Specialist Intermediate Apprenticeship course content
QCF Level 2 Diploma. Core units:
- Understanding the Potential of IT
- Improving Productivity Using IT
- Developing Personal and Team Effectiveness
Optional units include:
- Setting Up an IT system
- IT Communication Fundamentals
- Using the Internet and Email
- IT Software Fundamentals
As part of the Apprenticeship framework you will also study Employment Rights and Responsibilities, and Functional Skills Level 1 in English and maths, and Level 2 in ICT.

Considering an apprenticeship?

You can apply for both an apprenticeship, and a full-time course as your back up,
but note that you will need to do some research to find an employer willing to take you on as an apprentice
if you do not already have one.

ready to complete your apprenticeship with.
