About this course

Five GCSEs grade C or above or an equivalent qualification such as the Diploma in Digital Applications. These requirements can be relaxed in certain circumstances.

1. Maths for IT
2. Web server programming (eg PHP)
3. IT project. Written in a database or programming language.

6. Systems security
7. Object oriented programming (C++)
8. Data analysis. Investigating the data requirements of a large computer system.
9. Human Computer Interaction. Looking at the human-computer interface.
Progression / Careers
You may progress to a university degree or begin a career in Computing. Career options include Programming, Network Support, Games Design, Web Development or Hardware Engineering.
If you require further study, Foundation Degrees in Computing are available at North Devon College. These count as two years of a three year degree. There are a wide range of university degree courses available eg Computer Science, Games Programming, Web Design and ICT in Business.
