The IT Security Manager or CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) - in Italian
responsible for IT security - is a cyber security expert who has the task of
guaranteeing the security of corporate ICT infrastructures (PCs, servers, network
devices ... ) and security in managing access to corporate resources on-premise or
in the cloud. The CISO first of all analyzes the existing situation with an IT audit, in
order to then be able to develop appropriate protocols, standards and
information security management systems (ISMS, from English Information
Security Management System).

The IT Security Manager or CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) - in Italian responsible for IT security - is a cyber security expert who has the task of guaranteeing the security of corporate ICT infrastructures (PCs, servers, network devices ... ) and security in managing access to corporate resources on-premise or in the cloud. The CISO first of all analyzes the existing situation with an IT audit, in order to then be able to develop appropriate protocols, standards and information security management systems (ISMS, from English Information Security Management System). Analyzes company hardware and software equipment, the performance and reliability of systems and infrastructures (from the point of view of logical, physical and organizational security), evaluates the risks and threats of potential cyber attacks and malicious intrusions. Once the vulnerabilities of the system have been identified, the IT Security Manager proposes strategies and interventions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the security systems in use, evaluating the times, costs, benefits and feasibility of the various technical solutions available. Since the IT security levels are closely linked to the IT systems and devices used, the IT security manager must then carry out periodic analyzes on the integrity of the systems and data (for example through access reviews, firewall checks, network failover tests. ..) and define the procedures for the management, updating and maintenance of ICT systems, to avoid security holes that could compromise the whole system. Another important aspect of the IT Security Manager's work is related to emergency management: in fact, one must be aware that there is no absolutely inviolable IT system. Therefore, the IT security manager foresees several possible scenarios and prepares plans for a controlled management of incidents and emergencies, for example to respond in a timely and effective manner in
