Emagister adds to its catalogue this summer course offered by Izmade in the city of Turin (Italy). The course lasts 9 days, from the 19th to the 27th of July and the participants will have the opportunity to design and build a tool shed.

The place of intervention is a public area intended to be used as vegetable garden, managed by Clorofilla non-profit organization and granted to citizen.
The mission of Izmade Summer School is to build three microarchitectures to be donated to the local community in order to cultivate their vegetable garden.
The course aims to attract students – both under and post graduates –, professionals and, in general, anyone who is interested in furniture design, interior design and lovers of making movement. In addition, students will have the opportunity to experience methodologies and techniques that will enable them to work creatively with waste materials and to learn co-design practices.
Each student will be equipped with all necessary materials and work tools and will be mentored by Izmade staff in every phase of the project. The course will take a total of 75 hours of educational effort which equals 3 credits.
In addition, we will provide constant help in logistics, housing, mobility, and tourism.
The Summer School is taught in English.

About this course

The Summer School will offer participants the opportunity to design and build three tool sheds with, also, reclaim and natural material.
Students will be involved in a co-design session during which they will have the opportunity to meet citizen and the urban garden users in order to make the hut and its facilities as responsive as possible to their needs.
In the field research, design studio workshop and the realization phases, the participants will be constantly under supervision, mentored and assisted by Izmade and Coefficiente Clorofilla.
During the first and the second day, a design studio sessions will take place in which the students will define in a detailed manner the proposed intervention. The five days will be dedicated to the realization and installation of the project. The students will be divided in teams to promote the development of the ability to work in equipe. All the tools and materials necessary to work will be made available by Izmade.
At the end of the work process, the installations will be presented to the public during an opening party dedicated to the unveiling of the three tool sheds.

The course aims to attract students – both under and post graduates –, professionals and, in general, anyone who is interested in furniture design, interior design and lovers of making movement.
