This course is practical and cover the skills of speaking, writing, listening, reading. Teaching methods include formal instruction, pair and group work, role-plays, games, discussions and tutorials. Video and audio tapes are also used.
What background and qualifications do you need to join?
If you have completed the first stage or equivalent experiece.
What does the course lead to?
Successful completion can lead to progression onto higher level courses as appropriate. Your tutor will help you identify a suitable progression route.
What are the facilities and equipment like?
Students will be able to use our Skills Centres, with plenty of visual research material, including books, slides, journals, CD ROMS and Internet access.
How much should I study outside class?
A minimum of two hours home study is required each week.
How is the course assessed?
Assessments are held throughout the course.
Are any course materials online?
Some course material will be taken from the relevant websites
What books and equipment do I need?
Students should not purchase a book until the first lesson. During the lesson the tutor will advise the students on which book and material to get.

Students may be asked to buy a Japanese text book with the accompanying CD
