This course is a practical introduction into a broad range of animal-based industries including animal care, agriculture and equine, giving you the opportunity to specialise as your interests and skills develop. Your knowledge is enhanced through working alongside an extensive range of animal species from livestock on our working farm, to rodents and lizards in our diverse animal unit.

Course programme
How will I study?
If you are a full time student aged 16-18 you will follow a study programme which will consist of your main course, enterprise and enrichment activities, English and maths, as well as work experience. Modules include caring for small animals, horse care, feeding and watering livestock and fish care. You will continue to improve your English and maths and will take qualifications in these subjects at a level that suits you.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught through a mixture of classroom based lessons and practical sessions on the working farm, in our animal centre, and in the equine yard.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through practical assessments, a written workbook and maths and English tests.
