Entry to Land Based Studies is a course for 16-19 year olds from Special and mainstream schools who are committed to learning in a Land-based environment, and it is aimed to meet the needs of a wide range of learner ability. What are the aims of the programme? To support transition from child to adulthood. To learn to make independent choices. To develop independent living skills, functional skills, work skills and further training where appropriate in a Land-based environment.

Course programme

This course offers up to four one-year programmes centred around land based studies. Upon successful completion of each one year programme you may progress on to the next one year programme. The programmes are; Award Personal and Social Development at entry level 1 Award in Skills for Working life at entry level 2 Certificate in skills for working life at entry level 2 Diploma in skills for working life at entry level 2 Each programme offer a set of practical units, including functional, independent and social skills to support your transition through College. You will learn about a range of Land-based subjects, including Horticulture Conservation and Landscaping Small Animal Care Farm Animal Care
