Course programme
You will gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the discipline of landscape architecture and the related profession, informed by current practice, scholarship and research. With design-led teaching and learning, you will learn how to design, using a range of techniques and research methods, equipping you to progress towards a career as a landscape architect.
This is a two-year, 300 credit Master's degree.
This programme consists of ten modules, five per year, all of which are compulsory.
A Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits) is also offered.
A Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits) is also offered.
Core modulesThe first year is a preparatory year, as students entering the programme will typically be new to the discipline or landscape architecture.

The second year has a strong design research focus, with a major design studio project and research project complementing each other and giving students the platform to develop highly-developed portfolios upon graduation.

All assessed works are forms of coursework. These include design portfolios, essays, illustrated reports and diaries. You will receive formative feedback on their work in progress via tutorials and seminars, as well as written reports.
FieldworkThere is one field trip (optional) annually as part of the programme.
