Language And/With Management (French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish) With Foundation Year (Ba): 6-Year, Part-Time

Develop a high level of linguistic competence in your chosen language and combine the study of management with an understanding of the cultural context of France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the Spanish-speaking world. Our BA Language and/with Management with Foundation Year will hone the linguistic and intellectual skills you need for efficient negotiation in professional contexts. Language modules will enable you to reach a high level of proficiency in your target language, and acquire useful skills such as essay writing and delivering presentations, whilst management components will give you a good understanding of business and management and the environments in which they operate.

You will also have the opportunity to study a number of cross-cultural modules exploring specific themes across a variety of language-speaking areas.

Before proceeding to the main degree, you will spend your Foundation Year preparing yourself for a degree in the arts by improving your study and research skills and gaining arts-related knowledge and understanding. You will also have the opportunity to take a language module as part of the Foundation Year.

Our part-time Foundation Year degrees allow you to spread out your Foundation Year studies over two years. As the 'Foundation Year' is made up of 120 credits, as a part-time student you can take 60 credits in each of your first and second years before starting the main four-year BA Language and/with Management. This means that you can take six years to complete the part-time degree with Foundation Year.
