"The laundry service operator works in laundries or dry cleaners, establishments or specialized laboratories that receive dirty textile items on which they carry out a series of appropriate washing, disinfection, drying, ironing, folding and packaging treatments in order to return them in a state of hygienic cleaning and ready for reuse. The work of the laundry operator involves various activities: collection of clothes and linen at the institutions and facilities served or at the home of private customers, sorting and identification of dirty linen, implementation of the treatment and washing cycle to remove dirt and stains and post-washing phase which includes hydroextraction (for water washes) and unloading of clean laundry. Knowledge regarding: the use of plants, machinery and related safety standards (machinery, tools, chemicals), workplace hygiene, accident prevention, microbiological hazards associated with the processing phases and risk prevention measures of biocontamination, etc. To carry out this profession it is necessary that you become capable of carrying out all the phases of the production cycle. You will need to be able to work in a team and possess good communication skills to interact effectively with laundry customers.
