The law has an impact on daily life and everyone will find this course interesting whether you are planning on setting up your own business or making law into your career. Not only will you be looking at a wide range of high profile real life cases. You’ll also find out about the offences themselves, how they came to court, how the Judge can sentence a convicted criminal and how the solicitors, barristers, magistrates and juries interact. You’ll gain understanding of how laws are made and how they are passed in parliament, police powers, criminal and civil courts and the European courts. You will also develop analytical and problem-solving skills.

Course programme
Entry Requirements
You will need to have a minimum of five academic GCSE subjects at grade C or above. These must include English Language and maths.
Delivery and Assessment
You will be assessed by exams at the end of your course. Throughout the course you will be assessed by regular written assessments and knowledge tests.
Progression
Successful completion will allow you to continue your studies at university level or seek employment in the legal profession
