Course Content

The Graduate Entry LL.B. is a two year programme, which will give students a thorough grounding in the “foundations of legal knowledge” subjects required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board to allow them to enter one of the two main legal professions. Students will also be able to take one optional subject (or two optional subjects if a qualifying law degree is not sought).

These modules are:

  • Criminal Law
  • Law of Contract
  • Public Law
  • Law of Torts
  • Land Law
  • Law of Trusts

Final year Graduate Entry LL.B. students may opt to study European Union Law. Those students who do choose to study European Union Law in their final year will have a choice of one other module option from the following list (those Graduate Entry students who do not opt to study European Union Law may choose two modules from the list below):

Typical Dissertations

There are a variety of legal topics in which students may undertake their dissertations, ranging over all the fields of legal expertise contained in Brunel Law School.


Additional information

Teaching and Assessment Teaching Teaching will be carried out through the medium of lectures and seminars, and for the dissertation, students will receive supervision from one of the academic staff. Assessment By a combination of assessed coursework, unseen examinations, and a final year dissertation.
