There are 2 core modules on this course.

Core module 1: SW4707 Leadership for Innovation and Integration (20 credits)

This module will provide a critical exploration of the contemporary issues that impact upon social work and social care management and leadership. It will develop knowledge in relation to major theoretical perspectives and ethical debates, current research findings and evidence based practice in the field of management and leadership. The aim is to promote the development of effective social work and social care managers and leaders.

Core module 2: SW4704 Leading and Inspiring Through Professional Supervision (20 credits)

The module aims to equip supervisors in social care with a systematic understanding of knowledge, and a critical awareness of the challenges in the practice of supervision. The module will provide new insights, informed by current models of supervision and research at the forefront of professional practice. The module will enable students to gain a critical understanding of knowledge in their area of practice and to practise the skills required to provide effective supervision within a complex and changing social care environment
