Course programme

What you will learn

As practitioners and researchers, students will develop advanced skills in the handling of educational research. Students will critically reflect on how to apply the knowledge, skills and abilities they gain in their own professional context; enabling them to address areas of concern, any development needs in a creative, research informed and justifiable manner.

Learning is through a mix of formal sessions, tutorials, guided study, research, technology-rich media, blended learning and online learning. Assessment is through a combination of case studies, essays, oral presentation, small scale enquires and portfolios. All assignments include an element of critical reflection.

What you will study

A total of 180 credits must be studied to be awarded the MA in Leading Learning. You will need to study 3 core modules and a dissertation project plus 3 optional modules from the list below.

Core Modules

Research Awareness and Support Skills; Theories of Action in Teaching and Learning in Primary and Secondary School Education; Leading Educational Change; Dissertation Project.

Optional Modules

You must study 3 of the following optional modules: Curriculum Studies; Organisational Management and Leadership in Education; Inclusive Education Module A - Definitions and Perspectives of Inclusive Education; Management A - Human Resource Management in Education; Management B - Marketing in Education; Transformative Technologies in Teaching and Learning.
