Learn the basics of business accounting

Would you like to learn about accounting? This A Level Accounting Course is ideal for anyone wishing to gain knowledge and understanding of this subject or for anyone who wishes to study at a higher level at University. You will also find this course extremely valuable if you are looking for further training whilst employed.

This course is divided into four units, all of which relate to Financial Accounting.

AS Level
Unit 1: ACCN1 Introduction to Financial Accounting
This unit will cover the basics of accounting, such as recording financial data, profit and loss, and creating a balance sheet. There will be a written examination on this section. You will have 1 hour and 30 minutes to take the exam.

Unit 2: ACCN2 Financial and Management Accounting
This unit will go more in-depth regarding business entities and how their selection impacts accounting. Ratio analysis, limited accounts and ICT within accounting will also be covered. There will be a written examination at the conclusion of this section. Students will have 1 hour and 30 minutes to take the test.

A2 Level
Unit 3: ACCN3 Further Aspects of Financial Accounting
This unit covers issues such as what to do with incomplete records and how to value stocks. Students will have 2 hours to take the written examination.

Unit 4: ACCN4 Further Aspects of Management Accounting
This fourth and final unit covers several different topics of great importance in business accounting such as manufacturing accounts, absorption and activity based costing, standard cost and variance analysis, capital Investment, appraisal and social accounting. Students will have two hours to take the written examination.

About this course

You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. This course is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy. You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 18 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.
