This HND is awarded in conjunction with Birmingham City University. It is the only HND which qualifies successful students for automatic entry into the second year of an LLB qualifying law degree. The course involves the study of a variety of legal areas and skills and concentrates on the acquisition of the practical skills designed to equip you for a role in today’s fast changing legal profession. The course thus provides a particularly suitable route for those interested in paralegal work.
The course includes visits and outside speakers who have knowledge of the legal system. The course is designed for those who aspire to work within the law professions and also for those currently working within a legal environment who wish to gain a professional qualification. The course will put an emphasis on applied learning, developing skills and knowledge and applying these within the workplace.
This course is subject to validation by Birmingham City University.

Delivery and Assessment

Students are assessed via examination, MOOTS, assignments and presentations.

Progression

Course graduates are guaranteed a place on the second year of the LLB (Honours) degree at Birmingham City University. Alternatively students who pass this course will have an enhanced prospect of immediate employment in the legal professions.
