How will I learn?

By doing a range of reading, writing, speaking and listening tasks, activities and games. You will work in pairs, groups and individually.

How will my progress be monitored and assessed?

Your tutor will carry out continual assessment through a range of activities. You will build up a portfolio of evidence of speaking and listening activities. There is not an external exam for this course.

Progression opportunities

Yes. There are four Language levels. Your tutor will give you further information about appropriate progression routes.

What equipment or materials will I need to provide?

You may need to buy a text book (approximate cost £10) Further information about this and other suggested resources will be given by your tutor at the beginning of the course

What other support is available?

Help with numeracy or literacy is available. ICT drop-in sessions are available during term time and are open to all learners. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Learner Support Funding is available for equipment, childcare and travel to learners who qualify.
