The main purpose of the Level 1 Diploma in Hair and Beauty skills is to enable learners to develop hair and beauty skills, techniques and knowledge, which prepare to proceed to the next level of learning in their prefered route, either hairdressing or beauty therapy. All units in the qualification have been designed as a foundation for further study into the hair and beauty sector more broadly.

Course programme

The main features of the course is that it is designed as a foundation level to introduce learners into the world of hairdressing and beauty therapy.

It enables learners to develop practical and theoretical skills in the hair and beauty sector.

Progression from the course can lead either into full time college course in Hairdressing OR Beauty therapy NVQ Level 2.

Alternative options are Apprenticeships in either Hairdressing or Beauty thearpy at Level 2.

Additional information

Method of assessments are practical observations, written tests and written graded assignments.

Work can be submitted in Welsh or English.
