Level 1 Diploma in Painting & Decorating

This programme has been designed to give you the essential skills and knowledge you need to successfully start your career within the Painting & Decorating industry. With teaching and instruction from specialist staff you will gain knowledge and learn a wide variety of practical skills in the area of:

• Preparing common surface types for decoration
• Applying basic paint systems by brush and roller
• Applying foundation and plain papers
• Producing standard decorative finishes
• Understanding construction related technical information and processes
• Erecting and dismantling access equipment and working platforms

Health and safety is of paramount importance in all areas of the construction industry, and this will be reinforced throughout the course. Vocational core skills of English and Maths will be embedded in the programme along with specialist delivery to enable learners to reach GCSE grade 4 or equivalent standards to meet industry requirements.
