This course is a 1 year full time course which comprises of a full Level 1 IMI diploma. You will attend 3 days a week for 35 weeks.
About this course
The course is designed to provide the foundation knowledge needed for a career in the motor industry, for those with maths and English GCSE grade 9-4 (A-C) but no mechanical experience working with vehicles or tools this provides you with the starting platform for your journey into the motor industry.
Students must be at least 16 years old
New students will have an interview/placement test before starting their course to ensure that they are placed at the correct level
Potential jobs after completing Level 1 and Level 2 courses also include Light Vehicle Service Technician, Parts Advisor, Tyre Technician, MOT Vehicle Examiner, or Workshop Controller.
You will need to achieve GCSE grades 9-4 in English and maths (formerly A-C).

Progression at The College to the IMI Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or employment through a Level 2 apprenticeship programme in the motor industry with the possibility of further progression onto a Level 3 advanced apprenticeship
