Course Overview

This creative course will offer you the opportunity to work with a wide range of art and design materials, techniques, and processes in our subject specialist studios and workshops. It will help you to identify your personal strengths and your area of interest and it is a stepping stone to study at Level 3.

You will be taught by a team of experienced lecturers and technical staff, covering areas of art and design including contextual studies, drawing, painting, functional design, 2D and 3D visual studies, and photography. You will have a tutor who oversees your learning and development closely, supporting you in building further confidence, new skills, and independence, all of which will help you to build an art and design portfolio.

This course will provide you with an individual learning experience, focusing on how you are developing your thinking skills, ideas, technical skills, and abilities.

Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.

It’s also important to have good English and maths qualifications and so all students will study English and maths and work towards an appropriate level and type of qualification including GCSE. This will be part of all 16-18 year old students’ Study Programme alongside their main vocational or academic qualification and will be discussed with students at interview.

Please note advance applications for September 2016 for this course have now closed. However, you can still come in to apply and enrol during our open enrolment period between Tuesday 30 August and Friday 9 September. .
