A professional level 2 qualification to enable you to offer waxing treatments to fee-paying clients. The Level 2 Award in Health & Safety must be taken alongside this qualification unless you can provide proof of an accredited related qualification/relevant experience of working within the beauty industry.

Your tutor will deliver the programme through a series of demonstrations, group work, lectures and mini assignments to encourage your progression through the various topics. In the early stages of the programme you will practise your newly acquired skills on other members of the group before working on clients.

Course programme

This course opens up career opportunities for employment in the beauty therapy industry. This course will aid as progression onto the Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy. There are other courses that may be of interest that you may wish to study at this college such as qualifications in manicure and pedicure and body massage.

There are no formal entry requirements for this programme, but a good educational background will be necessary to successfully complete theoretical aspects of the course.

You will need to attend a Welcome Event for part-time courses at which you will complete a communication screener to ensure you have the appropriate educational skills to complete the programme. You will also need to complete a trade test to assess your suitability and dexterity skills. Applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of their competence in the English language.

We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability at CRC. To make this happen we offer both learning and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs.

The programme is assessed throughout the year in a number of ways:
• By demonstrating your practical competence on your peers in the college salon and in case studies to a level required in employment. You may also be encouraged to work on family, friends and fee paying clients in the college salon.
• Answering oral questions as part of the practical assessment to demonstrate your treatment knowledge and understanding
• Compiling a portfolio of work undertaken during the year
• Answering written questions and assignments set by your tutor
• On-line test for anatomy and physiology and under pining knowledge
There will be an external verification day for practical aspects of the course. This may occur outside of the regular course hours.
You will be required to provide clients for assessment as the college cannot guarantee client availability. These clients will be required to pay the prices as advertised in the college training salons.
