Course programme
The technical content of level 2 requires that the learners have an attainment of GCSE Maths, Science and English at Grade C or above, or equivalent. There is a requirement that the learner is employed in the Mechanical Services sector where they can gain experience of working with gas operatives
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
The course is the underpinning knowledge that is required to be a gas service engineer. It is designed for people that are employed by companies that carry out gas work and are under the supervision of a CORGI registered engineer
HOW WILL I LEARN?
It is theory based and includes practical based session where appropriate. The aims and objectives of the course are to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding to work safely on gas appliances/ installations. The course cover safety at work, basic principles of gas safety, Flueing and ventilation of gas appliances, gas regulations, basic electrics, principles and operations of gas controls, cooker space heaters, water heaters, wet central heating systems, warm air heaters and gas meters
WHAT CAN THIS COURSE LEAD TO?
This course is the underpinning knowledge for the NVQ 2 in Domestic Natural Gas Installation and Maintenance, which will then give candidates the required qualification to achieve CORGI registration.
