Course Overview:
The new Level 2 Certificate is for Facilities Services Operatives that work or wish to work in the facilities Industry. You can choose the skills you want to focus on and get a greater understanding for topics ranging from managing waste, carrying out maintenance and minor repairs and cleaning in specialist areas.
Awarding Body Recognition (City and Guilds and BIFM)
City and Guilds have developed this qualification in association with Industry specialists and Asset Skills (Sector Skills Council) for Facilities Management. GCS Training (Gower College Swansea) is one of only a few accredited learning centres in South West Wales to deliver the qualification, and we continue to work with local employers in innovative ways to help develop employer / trainer partnerships.
Relevant skills which are required in the delivery of Facilities Services include:
Securing Premesis
Setting up rooms for events
Assisting with cleaning
Site emergency and evacuation procedures
Porterage Carrying out minor maintenance repairs
Reading energy meters and using the intelligent BMS to control heating and ventilation.

What’s involved in the level 2 certificate in Facilities Services
To attain the level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services you will need to gain 20 credits. This consists of 3 mandatory units (11 credits) and additional optional units to minimum of 9 credits.

Course Delivery:
The qualification assesses competence in work situations via the City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services workbook. The qualification can be delivered in a variety of styles to suit the needs of the learner and the employer. Delivery styles include: Face to face taught sessions, distance learning, and online e-learning.
