Course programme

Overview - The QCF Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading is a nationally recognised qualification is based on the Management and Leadership National Occupational Standards (NOS). The NOS, assessment requirements/strategy and qualification structure is owned by The Management Standards Centre

(MSC). This qualification is designed to recognise occupational competence in team leading. It allows learners to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to a national occupation level required by employers, thus proving competency in their job role.

This qualification is suitable for job roles in any sector that involve team leading responsibilities.

Outline of the Programme - Each unit within the Diploma has a credit rating and to achieve the QCF Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading learners must complete 3 mandatory units and further 2 optional knowledge and competence units equalling an overall 17 credits from several units.

Mandatory Units

Unit 1 Manage personal development

Unit 2 Develop working relationships with colleagues

Unit 3 Communicate information and knowledge

The optional units cover areas of leading teams, such as managing conflict, planning, monitoring and evaluating team performance and setting objectives.

Assessment - Assessment takes place through evaluation of work-based performance, presenting evidence, witness testimony, recognition of prior learning and questioning. A portfolio of evidence is produced which demonstrates that the candidate can perform to the level described. Each QCF Diploma assessor will help assemble the portfolio using the e-portfolio system and prepare for assessment. In addition the candidates will have access to email and telephone support throughout their programme together with resources as required.
